Licensing
Licensing
memcp and claw-control
Both memcp and claw-control are licensed under the Business Source License (BSL). The BSL allows you to:
- Read the source code
- Fork and modify it
- Use it for personal and development purposes
Production commercial use requires a license from Engram. After the specified change date in each component’s LICENSE file, the license converts to an open-source license.
OpenClaw
OpenClaw is an open-source project maintained independently. It has its own license. Engram builds on OpenClaw but does not own or control it.
Why BSL?
We want the code to be readable and auditable by anyone. We also need to build a sustainable business. BSL gives both: the code is public and inspectable, but we can fund development through commercial licensing.
